2008-09 LMU Recruits
Following is a list of Loyola Marymount's recent signees who will join LMU in the 2008-09 academic year. All release links will be added to this list as we receive signed letters of approval from each future Lion.
BASEBALL
LMU Baseball Signs Five Players to National Letters of Intent
LMU baseball added five standout athletes during November's early signing period, Head Coach Frank Cruz announced earlier this week. Trevor Gee (INF, Notre Dame HS/Sherman Oaks, Calif.), Ryan Hawthorne (LHP/1B, Crespi HS/Encino, Calif.), John Lally (LHP, Santa Margarita HS/Rancho Santa Margarita, Calif.), Shon Roe (INF, Quartz Hill HS/Quartz Hill, Calif.) and Jason Wheeler (LHP, Torrance HS/Torrance, Calif.) signed National Letters of Intent to join the Lions in the fall of 2008.
WOMEN'S BASKETBALL
Wilhoit Adds Transfer Guard
LMU Head Coach Julie Wilhoit announced Tuesday that Candice Nichols has transferred from the University of Washington and is enrolled in classes at LMU for the spring semester. She is practicing with the team but, due to NCAA transfer rules, Nichols will sit out the remainder of the 2007-08 season and half of 2008-09 before being eligible to play for the Lions. She will have three years of eligibility following next season.
Women's Basketball Signs Three Top Prospects for 2008-09
LMU women's basketball has signed three players to National Letters of Intent during the early signing period, Head Coach Julie Wilhoit announced Wednesday. Alex Cowling, Monica DeAngelis, and Mikah Maly-Karros are all highly-decorated players who hail from California and will join the Lions for the 2008-09 season.

Bayno Earns First Commitments
Larry Davis, a sophomore at Seton Hall University and a native of Middle Village, N.Y., and LaRon Armstead, a senior from Freemont High School have become the first players to commit to the Lions under new Head Coach Bill Bayno. Davis, who averaged over six points in two seasons with the Pirates, will transfer to LMU and will redshirt the 2008-09 season due to NCAA transfer rules while Armstead has signed a National Letter of Intent to join the Lions this fall.

Golf Signs Another From Mira Costa
Loyola Marymount men's golf has announced that Jake Sarnoff of Mira Costa High School has signed a National Letter of Intent to join the Lions in the fall of 2008. Sarnoff becomes the fourth player from the South Bay high school to join the Lions program under sixth-year Head Coach Alex Galvan. Sarnoff, a senior at Mira Costa, is a three-time First-Team All-Area selection and is the defending CIF individual champions. He posted an 11-under 133 to set the Bay League record and is ranked 38th (as of Nov. 30) by Junior Golf Scoreboard and 43rd by Golfweek.

Men's Soccer Recruiting Class Totals 10 with Latest Additions
The Loyola Marymount University Men's Soccer team announced Tuesday the signing of three more players to the 2008 recruiting class. The addition of Adam Jackson, Max Young, and Fernando Barba brings the total number of incoming freshmen donning the Crimson and Navy to 10 as they join previously-signed recruits Phil Da Silva, Roger Downes, Alex Greenman, Kyle Johanson, Artur Jozkowicz, Tyler Krumpe, and Logan McDaniel.
Men's Soccer Inks Seven for 2008
The Loyola Marymount University men's soccer team has signed seven players to National Letters of Intent, Head Coach Paul Krumpe announced Thursday. Phil Da Silva, Roger Downes, Alex Greenman, Kyle Johanson, Artur Jozkowicz, Tyler Krumpe, and Logan McDaniel will all enter LMU as freshmen and don the crimson and navy in fall 2008.

Women's Soccer Adds Two More to Recruiting Class
LMU women's soccer has added two more players for the 2008 season, Head Coach Joe Mallia announced Thursday. Midfielder Jaide Timm-Garcia and goalkeeper Katie Graul will join the four incoming freshman that Mallia signed to National Letters of Intent in February.
Women's Soccer to Bring in Four for 2008
Loyola Marymount Women's Soccer has signed four players to National Letters of Intent, Head Coach Joe Mallia announced Friday. Teammates from Punahou School in Hawai'I, Brittney Sanford and Erin Rementer, will accompany Caroline Helfrich and Marissa Zamora to join the Lions in the fall of 2008.

Two More Outstanding Players to Join LMU in 2008
Two more outstanding volleyball players will join the LMU volleyball program in 2008, it was announced by Head Coach Steve Stratos on Tuesday. Diana Hiromoto (Honolulu, Hawaii) and Christa Scholtz (Austin, Texas) will each take the court for LMU during the 2008 campaign.

Loyola Marymount volleyball and Head Coach Steve Stratos announced the signing of six volleyball standouts. Alaina Bergsma (Chandler, Ariz./Valley Christian HS), Emily Cheek (Sequin, Tex./Sequin HS), Ariana Covington (Carlsbad, Calif./Carlsbad HS), Lauren DeGrandmont (Portland, Ore./Central Catholic HS), Jasmine Rankins (Vista, Calif./Vista HS) and Alesha Young (Costa Mesa, Calif./Newport Harbor HS) each signed National Letters of Intent to join the Lions in the fall for the 2008 season.
WOMEN'S WATER POLO
Women's Water Polo Inks Local Standout
The CIF Division II Player of the Year, Agoura High School's Casey Flacks, has signed a National Letter of Intent to join the Loyola Marymount women's water polo program in the Fall of 2008, Head Coach John Loughran announced on Tuesday. Flacks led Agoura High to the Division II Championship last spring.
